Alexander Molyneux, President and CEO of Chamber member SouthGobi Resources Ltd. (TSX: SGQ, HK: 1878) is pleased to announce Curt Church, previously Vice President, Mining Operations has been appointed the company’s new Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Church will continue to be based in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and will be responsible for managing the company’s coal mining and exploration operations.
Mr. Church has been the Vice President, Mining Operations since October, 2010 and was previously General Manager of the Ovoot Tolgoi Coal Mine in southern Mongolia for more than two years. Mr. Church has more than 16 years experience in the mineral resources industry, including more than six years of experience working at various mining operations in Mongolia.
“Curt has developed exceptional leadership skills within our organization,” said Mr. Molyneux. “The new role of Chief Operating Officer is recognition of his leadership and ability to think strategically about the business we are building into a leading coal miner.”
